WHAT IS A DIGRAPH?
A simple name is "consonant team" meaning two letters work together to form ONE sound.
All About Reading has a great article about teaching phonograms here. A phonogram is a letter or combination of letters that represent a sound. A digraph is a specific type of phonogram.
The most common consonant digraphs are CH, SH, TH, WH. Other consonant digraphs include PH, KN, WR, NK, NG, CK, and more. Digraphs can come at the beginning or end of a word, or be in the middle of a word
