Choosing to keep your little ones home during their early years is a deeply rewarding journey, but let’s be honest, it can also feel overwhelming, especially when you are balancing the needs of older homeschoolers at the same time. Having walked this path myself with my own children, from the toddler years all the way up through high school, I know how much a little extra support and structure can help. My goal in sharing these free printables, tot books, and preschool packs is simply to offer gentle, practical tools to make your days at home a bit easier and more intentional.

Many years ago, when my daughter was 2 years old, she was jealous of her older brothers’ calendar notebooks. She wanted her own special binder to work in during our homeschool day.
I created the original printable set specifically to meet that need. The purpose of this resource is for young tots to feel included while getting fun exposure to early learning skills. Older kids may enjoy using it too, but it earned its name for this exact reason.
To set up her notebook, I printed all of the pages and put them into heavyweight sheet protectors inside a binder. She used dry-erase markers to color and trace in her very own book right alongside her brothers.

A Tot-Book is simply a small lapbook (made out of half of a file folder) for a tot, filled with early learning printables to expose early learning skills! The focus age for these is 2-3 but it all depends on YOUR child. Many older children will enjoy these too.
When you take the natural interest of a child and use it as a spring board into exposing him/her to the skills you want him/her to learn (ABC's, name, shapes, etc.) you have a win-win situation. Your child loves the Tot-Book because it has a theme s/he already loves, YOU love the Tot-Book because s/he is being exposed to great early learning skills! It also creates a wonderful memory and keepsake of remembering the many "loves" of your child at this stage!
The Tot-Book was developed originally in 2008 for my then 2 year old son who was obsessed with the movie Cars. He carried around his Cars Tot-Book and had fun learning shapes, colors, his name, and more because his friend McQueen was "teaching" him.

They are the perfect solution for young toddlers and preschoolers who want to feel involved in "school time" alongside their older siblings, giving you a hassle-free option to hand to your tot at a moment's notice. By leaning into themes your child already loves, these simple pages turn their natural interests into a wonderful opportunity to practice early learning skills like letters, shapes, and colors.
These can be used as individual pages, or you could create a binder and put the pages into heavyweight sheet protectors. Many tots love to use dry-erase markers to color and trace in their very own workbook!
