3 PART CARDS
MEMORY & MATCH-UP
Nomenclature cards are a Montessori based idea. The word Nomenclature comes from the Latin “nomenclatura” which means assigning of names to things. Nomenclature cards are also called “3-part cards” for obvious reasons!

We often used our mini pocket chart with our 3-part cards as you can see in the video on the left and photo below. This video is from our Kindergarten Literature Unit - My Cats Nick and Nora which used our 3-part cat breed cards!
The video on the right is from our Kindergarten Literature Unit - The Selfish Crocodile which used special 3-part cards featuring animals from the book, which you can download for free in this post! I definitely recommend printing 3-part cards on cardstock and laminating!

Boom Cards are digital, self-checking, interactive activities. To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for modern Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires.

EVERYTHING ELSE
Match-Up games are a Montessori based idea, with the goal of improving a child’s visual discrimination abilities. I have added in the names of the objects to bring print awareness in also. You may choose not to use the print, by trimming off the words at the bottom of the game boards and using the non-labeled cards.

Print one set of images {either with or without words}, on cardstock, laminated if possible. Cut out the squares.

Print each game board, on cardstock and laminated if possible. Leave the game board whole.

Give your child one game board at a time and increase difficulty depending on his/her age.

Give your child an image card and have him/her find the matching fruit and place it underneath in the empty square.

Your child is successful when all images are matched up!
